Starck vs. Castiglioni

Photo via smartfurniture.com

The Ghost Chair by Phillipe Starck have always seduced me with their sexy transparency. Unfortunately my practical side always won, as I don´t think I would allow any of my visitors to sit down in the The Ghost Chair for fear of their clothing scratching up the surface. Therefore I would have a rule. If you sit in this chair, you must sit in it naked. And well....I don´t think I really want to see my friends naked, there are just somethings you do not want singed in your brain cells.

Then I saw this photograph. These chairs are perfect and have the best of both worlds. Sexy transparency and the practicality of the pillow´s protective buffering power. I think I prefer the brawniness of the barrel chair as well.

Once Upon A Time

Once upon a time, I worked in a tea house that also sold antiques. The owners were quite fond of me and treated me like the daughter they never had. I came across this photograph, of the delicate teacup with the flowers in the bowl that France and John gave me, and all the memories of that happy time came flooding back in an instant.

Journal

Love this idea of artful journaling. I have made attempts in the past, but never quite so full on.

Tough Yet Delicate

I have no idea where I had saved this photo from, but I love the delicate flowers engraved into the concrete floor.
